HVX200 is not the successor

edit

The successor of the DVX100 is not the HVX200, it's the HMC150. The HVX200 is considered the "Big Brother" to the DVX, but not the successor. The HMC150 has more in common with the DVX then the HVX does. This similarities include lens diameter, recording format data rates, and overall body size. The HVX is a larger camera, with a larger diameter lens, with high data rates and more professional codecs. Just because the HVX has two letter in common with DVX doesn't mean it is it's replacement.

As a break down here's what the letters stand for:

D = Standard Definition; H = High Definition; V = Video Tape; M = Media or Memory Card (SD Card); P = P2; X = 24p capable; C = No 24p mode (except on the newer HMC40 and HMC150 models)
