Queso blanco ?
editIs this similar or the same as Queso blanco? Even if not, perhaps a link should be added somewhere, they look as if they're related. --Cyberman TM (talk) 15:56, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
Essentially any Mexican Cheese of a white color is a Queso blanco. Fresh cottage style cheeses are all in the Queso blanco family, so Queso Panela is definetely a Queso blanco style cheese.
I question the definitive statement that Queso panela is NOT a Queso canasta. According to Larousse cocina, Queso de canasta is a regional variant of Queso panela that uses woven reeds or palm fronds as the basket material and the woven fronds leave a distinctive woven pattern on the cheese after it is unmolded for sale. Otherwise the two cheeses are identical in taste and texture. https://laroussecocina.mx/palabra/queso-canasta/ Sweedld (talk) 02:38, 31 October 2020 (UTC)
- I came here with the same question. A number of this say that that queso panela, queso canasta, and queso de la canasta. I'm going to change it for now. It seems most reasonable. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.191.199.95 (talk) 02:42, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
