Chronology
edit@Billiekhalidfan: Let's not edit war. "Old Town Road (Remix)" is one of four official remixes released, meaning we'd have to include all. Being on 7 or not is no difference. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ♥) 19:10, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Nice4What: Well then "Old Town Road (Remix)" shouldn't be listed as a separate single on 7 if you think it doesn't count. Billiekhalidfan (talk) 19:13, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
- Or for chronology we just exclude the several remixes of "Old Town Road", as they're all considered equivalent for charts? It's not all or nothing. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ♥) 19:14, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Nice4What: It kind of should be all or nothing. You can't say an artist has three singles on an album/EP and then have two songs total in the chronology. That doesn't make sense and is inconsistent. Similarly, Ed Sheeran's song "Take Me Back to London" was released as a single for the original and remix versions, but they aren't listed as separate singles from No.6 Collaborations Project. Billiekhalidfan (talk) 19:38, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Billiekhalidfan: Stop reverting for now, a consensus needs to be reached. View it as the 7 infobox has two singles and one remix single listed. Again, if you're going to list remixes in the chronology (which is usually only listed for whoever is featured on the remix), then "Panini" is preceded by the Diplo remix, not BRC. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ♥) 19:30, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Nice4What: But only the original version and Billy Ray Cyrus remix were released as singles. And on a side note, this page is on my watchlist so I don't need to be pinged. Billiekhalidfan (talk) 19:38, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
- What differentiates the release of the Billy Ray Cyrus remix compared to other three released? The Young Thug remix was also released as a standalone vinyl too. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ♥) 19:40, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Nice4What: The fact that the Billy Ray Cyrus remix was sent to radio, charted, given a music video, and was pushed as a single. None of the other remixes were pushed as a single. And the Young Thug remix wasn't a "standalone" vinyl, it had all four remixes and the cover just said "Old Town Road". Not all remixes of singles are singles themselves. Billiekhalidfan (talk) 19:51, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
- Young Thug remix was given an animated music video too. Proof that the BRC remix was sent to radio and "pushed as a single"? Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ♥) 19:57, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
- Want to interject some reliable sources too:
CNN – "It's his second single, since his hit "Old Town Road.""
Spin – "“Panini” credits Kurt Cobain as a co-writer, and is Lil Nas’ second official single."
Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ♥) 20:04, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Nice4What: The BRC remix was clearly pushed as a single, it had a music video. I've heard it on the radio many times so it was sent to radio, none of the other singles were. And if sources are saying "Panini" is his second single, then it should be the second single from 7 as well. Billiekhalidfan (talk) 20:19, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
- You're using personal experience to determine it "was clearly pushed as a single". Please reread WP:OR. Bring it to the talk page for 7 if you want the BRC remix removed from the list of singles in the infobox. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ♥) 20:20, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Nice4What: It's not "personal experience", how would a song be player many times on the radio if not sent to radio? And CNN said "Panini" was his second single since "Old Town Road", which means there was another single; "Old Town Road (Remix)" featuring BRC. Billiekhalidfan (talk) 20:23, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
- Note the comma in the middle of the CNN quote. Also from Complex, ""Hop on Panini," Lil Nas X wrote, referring to his second single." Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ♥) 20:27, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
- Also Highsnobiety, Genius and Billboard describe it as the second single off of 7. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ♥) 20:34, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
