This is a real album and it has been cited. I've read numerous articles on the rapper and his upcoming cd.
- I believe that this is a real item. It has not been cited; there are no references in this article. If you know of a reliable source that definitely confirms the information in this article, that would help it overcome both this and this objection. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 00:25, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
No Matter What
editT.I. said that "No Matter What" is not an offical single. I don't get why people keep putting it as a single. It's just a leaked track. SE KinG (talk) 01:35, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, it is not a leaked track, but rather a promotional single. I suppose that, in itself, could be counted at as the "first single," regardless of the fact that it is not an official single. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tri-Edge (talk • contribs) 21:05, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
Could you please give a source where T.I. says it is not an official single. If you don't, people will just keep adding it as a single. I doubt it was an official single, but it needs a source that it was not. I mean it was released to Radio and it was released digitally. It even had a music video. All i am saying is you should have a source where T.I. says that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by PSIHEARTTORI (talk • contribs) 00:54, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

Not-so-confirmed tracks
editI removed several songs from the confirmed tracks section that did not meet our policy for verifiability or WP:RS. Here is a breakdown of the what I have removed:
Title | Reason |
---|---|
"Be Free" | The only citation for these come from WordPress, a blog host, which therefore fails WP:RS. |
"Hustla's Struggle" | |
"Limelight (Intro)" | |
"On My Job" | |
"The Block Still Got Me" | |
"Out in the Cold" | No citation whatsoever. Fails the basic concept of confirmed in "confirmed tracks". |
"What Up, What's Happenin'" | All this link tells me is that there is a song called "What Up" by T.I. and is not on any of his albums (ALBUM: N/A). Now, with this link, to come to the conclusion that a song called "What Up, What's Happenin'" will be on this album is pure original research. |
I'm not implying that these songs will not be on the upcoming album, but until they are not confirmed by reliable, verifiable sources, we should not mention them on the article. Thanks, Do U(knome)? yes...|or no 21:30, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
I'm just gonna throw this out there, A Better Day was a song that was leaked in late June, rumored to be on Paper Trail, but no official source has stated it.
http://nahright.com/news/2008/06/22/ti-a-better-day/
Also "Out in the Cold" was confirmed by MTV.
http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1590835/20080714/fall_out_boy.jhtml
But however it was stated as "under consideration". So I do not believe it should be under confirmed tracks.
I agree with most of your thoughts except "What Up, What's Happenin'", an unofficial music video has been made (unknown if it will be a single). Kind of what Plies did for some of his tracks on Definition of Real. But thats just my thoughts. SE KinG (talk) 01:20, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
Unexplained Removal
editCan someone explain to me why this information was removed?
Album information
On August 5, T.I. confirmed that Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, Usher, Fall Out Boy, & John Legend are set to appear on the album.[1] He also stated that two music videos for "Swing Ya Rag" and "What Up, What's Happenin'" are currently being worked on and he also included a behind the scenes look at the "Swing Ya Rag" video.[2]
The video for "Whatever You Like" was released on BET's Access Granted on August 6, 2008.
T.I. will also be visiting BET's 106 & Park on August 7 and will give the complete 411 on his new album and premiere his "Whatever You Like" video as the new joint.[3]
Tracks
In an official statement, T.I. announced that he will be releasing the first street/promotional song off Paper Trail on Tuesday, April 29 on Streetcred.com. "I already know the demand is great, the anticipation is very high, and the wait is almost over man," T.I. said. "I promise you something special and I will deliver."[4] The song was released on StreetCred.com on April 29th as a promotional single then online for sale on May 6, 2008. It is called "No Matter What" with a music video for the song already being finished [5] and it was released on MTV's FN Premieres on June 27. On July 4, 2008, T.I. added a new song to his MySpace titled "Swing Your Rag".[6] Another track "What Up What's Happenin'" was also leaked to the internet and is now on his MySpace also.[7] T.I. also collaborated with Fall Out Boy on a track called "Out in the Cold".[8]

Swing Ya Rag/Whatever U like
editIsn't Swing Ya Rag the Second single Whatever you like the first single and No Matter what the Promotional single? Because that is not what they say in their articles. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 1Sire (talk • contribs) 23:18, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

So? Just because it's leaked doesn't mean it's on 'Paper Trail'.
It was previewed at the PAPER TRAIL listening party last week. —Preceding unsigned comment added by KyleEshna (talk • contribs) 18:20, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

'You Ain't Ready'
editA new song, 'You Ain't Ready' was leaked a few days ago, and is produced by The Runners, does anyone know anything about it? I havn't read anything about it being a track from Paper Trail. (DipSetGeezer (talk) 20:00, 24 August 2008 (UTC))
- A few days ago? Song was leaked months ago. SE KinG (talk) 20:25, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, okay smart arse, you got an answer though? If not then keep the smart shit to yourself! You will have Herlems finest on your door step! Haha! (DipSetGeezer (talk) 21:46, 24 August 2008 (UTC))
- Regardless if it was leaked months ago or days ago, if there is no reliable source claiming it is a track to Paper Trail, than it shouldn't be added. DipSetGeezer, please watch your tone as well your your edits. DiverseMentality(Discuss it) 21:56, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
Aye Man! I was just asking a question! All i wanted was an answer not a smart response! And another thing, i didn't make any edits and wasn't suggesting that the song should be put on the track list, i was ASKING if anyone knew anything about it, so i can safely answer my own question now: No, no one does know anything about the song. Sheesh!! (DipSetGeezer (talk) 14:28, 26 August 2008 (UTC))
Citation Needed
editSometimes I get frustrated with wiki editors. I found it amusing browsing through some music pages and seeing things people wanted cited. If you need citing of a song being a remake or using a sample.... why don't you go and listen to both songs... with humans the biggest proof is seeing or hearing something for yourself.. why not try that out? It might clear up a lot of the mysteries of the world. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Empororllid (talk • contribs) 01:49, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

The Tracklisting
editI think it should be reverted, because as Carter 3 it was proved to be a fake (the tracklisting) on Amazon. Any ideas?
--Piazzajordan2 (Talk.) 20:04, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
- this is the official tracklisting... the reason Tha Carter 3 tracklisting was wrong is because when it got pushed back, the tracklisting changed... imo this is the official tracklisting and should not be changed unless a source proves that this is incorrect. amazon is about as accurate as it comes
--Ba11innnn (talk) 20:26, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
That tracklisting has to be fake...any one can sign onto amazon and create a tracklisting...T.I. himself has not even confirmed the tracklisting or released it on his myspace or on his website...i think the tracklisitng should be reverted back to confirmed tracks until other sources confirm the tracklisting, i may be wrong but just seems like the logig thing to do. 122.110.177.60 (talk) 23:40, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
I would be VERY Surprised if this is the tracklist, I mean, the one track Tip said was going to be on it before any tracks were confirmed, was "let My Beat Pound", but this isn't on the tracklist on amazon. If this is the "Official" tracklist, then I am pleased to notice that The Runners have a produced Track on it, regardless of it being an Into lol. (DipSetGeezer (talk) 13:53, 28 August 2008 (UTC))
- The Tracklisting needs to be removed, as Amazon.com is not a reliable source. Anyone could have posted that. —Do U(knome)? yes...or no 21:59, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

Top Back Sample
edit1 line from a song does NOT count as a sample. That means that basically ANY line in any song can be considered a sample, which is incorrect. For example, "Take you wherever you like" is a line in "Whatever You Like", but i have heard that in all sorts of other songs, but thats not counted as a sample. it's NOT A SAMPLE! It's just words being used again!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by DipSetGeezer (talk • contribs) 10:45, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
- It's the line "I like my beat down low, and my top lit back." Find that line in another song besides "Top Back" and I'll agree with you. SE KinG (talk) 03:37, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
Producers...
editLike I Do - Produced by Jazze Pha
Live Your Life - Produced by Just Blaze
My Life, Your Entertainment - Produced by Drumma Boy
What Up, What's Haapnin' - Produced by Drumma Boy
Listen to the tracks, in "Like I Do" you can hear Jazze Pha in the beginning, that's his production tag. "Live Your Life" T.I. SAYS "Just we did it again homie." "My Life, Your Entertainment" has the same intro that is on every Drumma Boy songs. Same thing with "What Up, What's Haapnin'".
"I'm Illin'" I really don't care who produces it. So ya'll can keep having an edit war about that. SE KinG (talk) 03:34, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
- Per WP:V: The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth. You need to verify the producers. DiverseMentality(Discuss it) 03:38, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

editThe first sentence reads, "On November 13, 2007, in an official statement about the charges against him, T.I. also announced that he had been working on a new album, to be entitled Paper Trail." OK, but then there is no explanation to what "the charges" are/were. There is no mention of "the charges" earlier in the article either. Track listing table
editI've reverted the undiscussed change to the track listing table for a few reasons. First off, as I mentioned, it was completely undiscussed. Second, there was no reason to change it; the table was fine as it was and the change removed the inline citations of the samples used in the songs. Third, the 'Additional credits' section seemed completely redundant; there's already a 'Personnel' section where this is listed. If you disagree with my revert, please discuss it here first before making changes. Thank you. DiverseMentality 01:28, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

Uh...What? (Re: Case Closed EP)
editThe EP information clearly states that it was released in the U.K. (from the article's current edit). That means the release should have its own page. Sure, the project originally was MEANT to be an expansion project, which would have led to its being included on this page for sure, but it was a separate release in August 2009 in the U.K.
So...why in blazes is it merged here? If it never came out in the U.K., it makes sense, but if it did, give it back its own page already! CycloneGU (talk) 01:02, 27 March 2010 (UTC)

- Wikilinks should only be made if they are relevant to the context. Common words do not need wikilinking. A word only needs to be wikilinked once, at its first mention. Do not duplicate links elsewhere.
- The first single off the re-release was released onto the Internet on May 14, 2009... - Recast this sentence to avoid the duplication of "release".

after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/20081205100512/http://blogs.usatoday.com:80/listenup/2008/09/this-weeks-re-4.html to http://blogs.usatoday.com/listenup/2008/09/this-weeks-re-4.html#more
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.
