Unclear wording/bad english

edit

Could someone who thinks they understand point 2 of Version 2 ("making a move") or knows how it works by other means please re-word that bullet point list? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.51.159.86 (talk) 11:05, 21 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Paper soccer. Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:

A special movement from games.harrix.org

edit

[1] - Based on the images I see that a special movement has been introduced here. In the picture it is visible that the players can make longer diagonal line. I don't know Russian but it is given most propably on the condition that:

1 Line cross a dot which diagonally connect two neighboring points on the board (in the last or in the start part of the movement)

2 Line is drawing in the same direction as last part of the move (In the case when line cross the dot in start part of the movement).

Which image are you talking about - do you mean the middle one in http://games.harrix.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/13.png ? --McGeddon (talk) 17:02, 25 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
http://games.harrix.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/13.png - Yes, here, I think about middle one. I also in this gameplay see intresting move. It is consists with six movements and third part has been caused most propably with he bonus about we are talking. Dawid2009 (talk) 17:10, 25 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
Okay, thanks, I've edited to match what the harrix.org source appears to be saying - that it's adding another situation in which a "bounce" can be taken. --McGeddon (talk) 17:24, 25 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Incomprehensible

I cleared up what I considered to be the most glaring grammar issues, but I was completely confused by the "similar games" section. I couldn't understand the rules, and without that I'm unable to tell whether there are any errors in the text. I've tagged it, maybe someone who understands these rules can give it a once-over? Regards, MediaKill13 (talk) 23:41, 15 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

I have correctedsome fragments in a XrSoccer. But rules' of these games are very easy and every person is able to correct these sentences. The most effective way to fastly get to know rules of the this games is videography wchich is placed in section: = = External links = =. Regards. Dawid2009 (talk) 19:08, 17 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
I rewrote one of the less-than-perfectly-understandable sections, though I suspect my use of "line segment" is not technically correct. I'll try to come by and rewrite it tomorrow, and maybe tackle the last section. Oh, I also thought the lead was a bit short so I integrated the Background section into it (with a sledgehammer). Oh, two questions: (1) Is there a better name than "Larger Playing Area" game? I was thinking "Russian variant", maybe? What do the Russian magazines call it? (2) Some of this page looks like is uses British English (pitch instead of field, football in the lead). Would it be alright to revert center to centre and mark the page as British English? - Reidgreg (talk) 01:29, 18 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
The very first version of the article was in US English, so per WP:ENGVAR that's the one we should arbitrarily go with. "Russian variant" sounds like a good idea. --McGeddon (talk) 09:14, 20 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
Then probably better go to with soccer throughout, as you've done (I noticed there's an article on paper football which predates this article by a few months more than ten years ago). So long as it's consistent. I stated scoring in terms of "goals" and used "points" only for the points on the grid. Do you think there needs to be any clarification between a goal (scoring) and the goal area on the play field, which the article sometimes refers to as the [goal] gates? It seems clear enough from context. - Reidgreg (talk) 14:44, 20 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
I did have to learn the game to understand the rules but it wasn't too difficult to pick up (looks like a fun game). I hope I didn't make any glaring errors. I've finished my copyedit and will keep this on my watchlist for a couple weeks in case there are any issues or questions. The two points I raised above should probably be addressed. - Reidgreg (talk) 17:12, 18 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
