I have been trying to find an explanation of bonds in Truck-Driver English for some time. Why pay 120% of the face value of a 30-yr Treasury bond if after 30 years (at maturity) you only get back $100 (in addition to the annual interest). Unless they are being used as ostensibly very stable trading vehicles by banks and institutions with big bucks.
