In the TV show "The Fall," some episode titles, at least, are Paradise Lost quotations. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Caliginous (talkcontribs) 18:45, 27 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Kirk did not say, "I have. Is that your answer?" He said, "Yes. I understand." This should be corrected. Betaneptune (talk) 01:27, 23 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Mr. Scott need not have admitted to "shame"
As a Scot, Mr. Scott was no doubt alluding to the famous erudition of those who have received a Scottish education. Nuttyskin (talk) 04:18, 18 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

In Seventh-day Adventist Church

edit

Some scholars have alleged that Ellen G. White, cofounder of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, may have plagiarised Paradise Lost and presented them as divine inspiration from God, and thus incorporating much of Paradise Lost into official church doctrine.

See here: https://nonsda.org/egw/egw102.shtml

I unfortunately can't find a great scholarly source that isn't from a SDA college, but I think this is worth mentioning/looking into as there are supposedly more than 20 million members of the SDA church now.

The only citation I can find is: Burgeson, Ruth Elizabeth. A Comparative Study of the Fall of Man as Treated by John Milton and Ellen G. White. Diss. Pacific Union College, 1957. Apple3141 (talk) 23:24, 16 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
