editI've added some counter-examples after Roy and Chattopadhyay (2007). They're probably not as clearly worded as they could be, and definitely need examples. Hunting down some of their references might be a good place to start. Basically, the model doesn't work out most of the time, and there needs to be a section explaining why. Roy and Chattopadhyay reference
editAdded a citation to the Roy and Chattopadhyay paper. This nicely summarises possible explanations. I have tidied up the text below to list all the points of Roy and Chattopadhyay. I have tried to change to wording and clarify the text to achieve some of the clarity that Dackerts was trying to achieve. The "alternative view" section was one of the points of Roy and Chattopadhyay. It was out of balance and I have now included in the bullet point list with a link to the Arditi Ginzburg model, which is where much of the argument is stated that used to be in the "alternative view" section. There are many alternative views on this, ratio dependence being one of them, and higlighting one not the others gives a poor balance of argument. Ratio depenencs is one of the more controversial explanations. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Squi22 (talk • contribs) 16:49, 4 March 2023 (UTC)
