Needs a common name

Hi, I don't know who's in charge of these things so I'm starting here. Don't you think the reasonably common Parancistrocerus perennis could use a common name? INaturalist has more than 1,300 observations from all over the eastern USA. I suggest we name it the Wendell Potter wasp. It is a potter wasp, and that would honor Wendell Potter, a long-time advocate in favor of single-payer health care in the USA. If you think it would be weird to name a potter wasp for someone named Potter, well, you're right. It would also be very good. Settybodzin (talk) 00:36, 14 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

The 2021 book Wasps: Their Biology, Diversity, and Role as Beneficial Insects and Pollinators by Heather Holm refers to Parancistrocerus perennis by the common name "Two-banded Mason Wasp" Bridavia (talk) 21:17, 19 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
