Talk:Parc des Buttes Chaumont

information conflict

edit

In your article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parc_des_Buttes_Chaumont) on Buttes Chaumont (I just went to the Park itself yesterday!) I'm finding a conflict of information provided: In the first paragraph, it says: "... perched at the top of a cliff thirty metres above the waters of the artificial lake"Later it is stated: "Explosives were used to sculpt the buttes themselves and the former quarry into a picturesque mountain fifty meters high..."

The Temple is at the highest point in the park, so which statement is correct? Is it 30 or is it 50 meters high? Or am I just reading something incorrectly?

Thank you. Jant10 (talk) 12:33, 4 February 2014 (UTC)Jan T.Reply

Good catch!

edit

Thanks very much for catching that; I missed it completely. According to "Paris- les Jardins d'Haussmann", which quotes Eduard Andre, the landscape architect of Paris, it's fifty meters; same thing in the guide, "Parcs et Jardins en France." I hope you enjoyed the park; it's one of the prettiest places in Paris. SiefkinDR (talk) 11:27, 5 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
