Talk:Pardo (surname)

Prado / Pardo

edit
Some English scholars believe that this surname derives from Prado in Castile[1] or from Prado del Rey in the Province of Cádiz, although the phonetical transposition Prado/Pardo is hardly unexpected in Spanish (as unexpected as an English change bird/breed).

This sentence makes no sense. Either "although" or "hardly unexpected" must be wrong. If it is hardly unexpected, then "although" makes no sense. Also, in English a transposition of "bird" to "breed" is unexpected. Also, whether such a transposition is expected or not seems like OR unless it's sourced. -- 76.15.128.196 (talk) 13:30, 18 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

The problematic sentence was added this past 17th of June by an anonymous IP user. I guess we can simply revert to the previous revision. -- -- -- 22:29, 18 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
I just did so. I wonder, though, whether the problem was simply that the person who made this change is not a native English speaker and didn't understand the word "hardly". -- 76.15.128.196 (talk) 04:52, 25 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
