editI have tried to apply an interwiki link to this page, and am becoming thoroughly disenchanted with this tidy, but not very useful Wikidata innovation. Life simply is not 'elegant' and real languages are not absolutely 'translatable' because of cultural influences Timpo (talk) 10:13, 25 December 2014 (UTC)
Should this page be recombined with "Proverb"?
editThis page was split off from Proverb with no discussion. I still do not understand the criteria by which some sections were left and some sections were moved here. Should this material be returned to the Proverb article? Should more be moved here? Any discussion from anybody? Pete unseth (talk) 20:42, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
- I repeat my question: should this article continue as it is, or be merged back into "Proverb", where it originally came from? I think it should return there, but want to hear other opinions, if there are any. Pete unseth (talk) 19:13, 19 January 2016 (UTC)
- Unless I hear a roar of united opposition, I will move this material to the "Proverb" article. Pete unseth (talk) 20:09, 7 March 2018 (UTC)
Paremiography and Paremiology

- The result of this merge discussion is not merged. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 18:36, 29 May 2019 (UTC)
They are different subjects.
Paremiography collects proverbs and publishes them, usually without comments or explanations.
Paremiology is the study of proverbs. Paramiologists are usually paremiographers as well, but not all paremiographers study proverbs. Mariagarcia (talk) 17:53, 25 January 2018 (UTC)
- Merge, on the grounds that while they are different subject, they are so closely related that they should be discussed together. Klbrain (talk) 00:41, 11 April 2019 (UTC)
- I would prefer to keep Paremiography as a stand alone article. I would prefer to see the article Proverbs combined with the article "Paremiology" Pete unseth (talk) 00:54, 11 April 2019 (UTC)
