Update
editFYI, I went by the site today and the block is completely surrounded by fencing, which might mean that they're getting ready to demo the block in preparation for building. Jason McHuff (talk) 06:23, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
Actual Height
editOn this article and on the List of tallest buildings in Portland this building is listed at 515 feet. According to Emporis it is only 476 feet, since Emporis is very accurate I am changing the height. Tboy206 (talk) 15:40, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
- Actually the actual height would be something like 10 feet or so. And as to Emporis, from my experience I find them to not be "very accurate". A reliable source, but not the end all of all things related to skyscrapers. Aboutmovies (talk) 21:30, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
- Heh, yeah, the actual height is probably about -20 feet. We call it the "fail hole". tedder (talk) 21:45, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
- The building's official height should be 460' with a spire height of 502'. Emporis, in 2019, is relatively up-to-date and even though it sometimes conflicts with other sites after years of evaluation it seems to be quite valid for building heights. - Then why does this site say it's 537 feet with an "Occupied" height of 413 feet? That page is used as a reference (currently #33) on List of tallest buildings in Portland, Oregon, and puts it over the 150 meter mark which is what a skyscraper is being defined as. Building type
editI was reviewing the article, and it says that this building is a "high-rise" building. I thought this building would be considered a skyscraper? I think skyscraper would be more appropriate. I always thought a skyscraper was 300+ feet (but I don't know where i heard that statement from). Can anyone explain to me what a "skyscraper" is, and if this is considered a skyscraper or a high-rise building. Thanks! CookieMonster755 (talk) 01:14, 7 March 2015 (UTC)
- I changed the wording to skyscraper per Wikipedia, stating that a skyscraper is over 492 feet tall. CookieMonster755 (talk) 05:31, 7 March 2015 (UTC)
- Here is the sticky... The architectural height of the building is 460 feet tall, which by technical classification, is a high-rise. The spire height currently listed is not accurate nor is the official height of the building on Tallest in Portland. Masterscraper (talk) 08:56, 3 February 2019 (UTC)
