editHello, I am planning to make a few edits to this page in the next two weeks, along with two other people. We expect to add new sections for notable people, transportation, and a possible third area that is still being decided. We also plan to make minor edits to some of the prose, particularly in the Geography and History sections, and to look at improving the lead. Any suggestions for improvements or sources that may have reliable information pertaining to this are welcome. Elizmk7 (talk) 18:57, 28 March 2012 (UTC) (talk • contribs) 18:47, 28 March 2012 (UTC)
Update: Our group has added sections for Transportation, Notable people, and Recreation. We also made a few minor prose changes and moved the History section to the beginning of the article. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions regarding this article? Elizmk7 (talk) 13:25, 5 April 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Elizmk7. Thank you all for the improvements to the article. It's looking great. Here are some suggestions, if you want to keep working on the article:
- A longer history section would be nice, (this site looks like it has some detailed information)
- The Demographics section could be updated to reflect the 2010 census
- External links in the body of the article should be removed or converted to references per WP:ELPOINTS
- The Schools section could be converted to prose and could use an inline reference
- A photo or two of Park Rapids (historical or current) could be added
- Itasca State Park, Heartland State Trail, and Fish Hook River are all mentioned in the lead of the article, but could also go into the Geography section with more detail about each
- I would imagine the folks from the Hubbard County Historical Society would be very helpful in providing resources for the history. The museum looks to be putting on some events this year as well.
- Hope that helps. Cheers, Gobōnobo + c 18:01, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
