The first couple of paragraphs appear to duplicate the text on http://www.kitcarusa.com/kb.php?aid=132 . Should this be used as a reference or does this mean we need to rewrite this? Nutster (talk) 04:13, 22 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Replacement expensive - why?

edit

The "Recommendations" section says: "Replacement can be an expensive operation since it not only requires removing the transmission from the vehicle, but it's usually the first component to be installed in the gearbox case during a complete rebuild."

What happens during a complete rebuild is not relevant or interesting here, since nobody was planning a complete rebuild. Do you mean that getting access to the parking pawl often requires disassembling most of the transmission first? (If you do, please say so in the article instead of expecting people to guess.)
