"She"?

It strikes my eye that the ship is referred to as "she" in the article. I know this is common maritime language, but is it proper neutral English in an encyclopedia? In articles where the god of christianity is referred to, writing "He" (capital H) and "the Lord" would be in agreement with common christian language, but we don't do it here. fastest ever

The frase "This was the fastest ever achieved by a sailing ship.[6]", might be misundertod. Might it be better to be more precise in saying that we are talking about the wheat trade?. I believe the tea klippers were faster over the distance. Petethewhistle (talk) 09:32, 15 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
