Native hunters' superstition in British Columbia
editIn a source I'm reading right now, by George M. Dawson, I came across mention of how this plant was tied to the hat or rubbed on the soles of the feet so that the deer would be caught; here on page 88. No other folklore on this page yet, but dropping this cite here for later use by someone who might want to add one.Skookum1 (talk) 04:21, 28 April 2013 (UTC)
Why Celastraceae?
editThe USDA Plant database (https://plants.usda.gov/core/profile?symbol=PAFI3) puts Parnassia fimbriata in the Saxifragaceae not Celastraceae. The Flora of the Pacific Northwest (Hitchcock and Cronquist) likewise put it in the Saxifragaceae. Did it get moved to the Celastraceae? When? What were the criteria or the cause if indeed it has been moved? Thanks!
