Requested move 4 September 2024
edit
It has been proposed in this section that Part One be renamed and moved to Part One (The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band album). Part One → Part One (The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band album) – Pageviews shows here that the album is not even close to being the primary usage. The current target should be retargeted to Part 1. Gonnym (talk) 09:05, 4 September 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. Frost 11:20, 11 September 2024 (UTC)
- Support move. Obviously not the primary topic. O.N.R. (talk) 12:30, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
- Strong support, even including all of the potential targets on the main DAB page. Bobby Cohn (talk) 14:44, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
- Move to Part One (album) per WP:ALBUMDAB. 162 etc. (talk) 15:33, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
- Support
but I don't think the artist is needed as there appears to be only 1 album. Crouch, Swale (talk) 17:28, 4 September 2024 (UTC) - Support per nom. Clearly not primary topic for this common term. -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:56, 5 September 2024 (UTC)
- Relisting comment: consensus for move. Relisting to determine if it should move to Part One (The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band album) or Part One (album). Frost 11:20, 11 September 2024 (UTC)
- A bit confused by this relist - WP:ALBUMDAB is a well-established naming convention, and nobody has specifically expressed a desire to keep the unnecessary disambiguation of the OP's proposed title. 162 etc. (talk) 16:38, 11 September 2024 (UTC)
- Hang on, there is Part I: John Shade, Your Fortune's Made and things with subtitles are usually ambiguous with the base title. As with Talk:Liverpool 1 (TV series)#Requested move 28 July 2024 I would have concerns about "One" and "1" being indistinguishable and note that I am a supporter of SMALLDETAILS. Crouch, Swale (talk) 17:58, 11 September 2024 (UTC)
- I'm not aware of any sources that refer to the Fol Chen album by the abbreviated title "Part One". Hatnote is fine. 162 etc. (talk) 19:30, 11 September 2024 (UTC)
- I agree that all 4 sources in the article don't use the title without the subtitle but I would keep in mind about people now knowing it has a subtitle unless its a title that could not be reasonably be referred to without the subtitle, see Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions (films)#Does this apply to subtitles?. When it comes down to qualifiers it generally pays to be unambiguous. Crouch, Swale (talk) 16:41, 12 September 2024 (UTC)

- Move to Part One (album). Due to Part One (The Pacific), the album is no longer the primary topic, but is still the only album on WP using the precise title. Keep a hatnote pointing to the Part 1 dab page for the rare reader who might want the very lightly viewed EP or Fol Chen album. Station1 (talk) 03:22, 12 September 2024 (UTC)
