Pasquil's Return
editThe full title of this pamphlet begins 'The return of the renowned Cavaliero Pasquill of England, from the other side of the seas, and his meeting with Marforius at London...'. Hence it is often referred to for short as 'Pasquill and Marforius'. I'm intending at some point to put a link to this page from the page on 'London Stone' - many recent writers on London Stone quote a passage from what they call 'Pasquill and Marforius'. Would anyone object if I amend the 'Pasquill' page to include the alternative title? John O'London (talk) 10:01, 12 March 2013 (UTC)
Title of page
editSurely the subject of this page is not 'Pasquill Cavaliero' but 'Cavaliero Pasquill'? I assumed 'Cavaliero' (knight) is his title not part of his name, but even if it's his name, it's his first name, and his surname is 'Pasquill'. So in both the wikipedia page title and in the text he should be referred to as 'Cavaliero Pasquill'. (I'm new to wikipedia and have no idea how one would set about changing the title, even if there was a consensus in favour.) John O'London (talk) 10:25, 12 March 2013 (UTC)
- page moved to "Pasquill (the Cavaliero)". Internal references to name and persondata changed accordingly, treating "(the) Cavaliero" as his (assumed) rank or title; links to page from Martin Marprelate and Marprelate controversy also updated to avoid redirects.
