Update
editI have updated this article on the "Passionists" which reflected originally the rather dated description of the Congregation relying chiefly on an article found in the "Catholic Encyclopedia" that was written sometime in the late 1950's or early 1960's. The challenges of Vatican Council II and the renewal process that ensued were not particularly evident. The General Chapter of 2012 committed the congregation to a major restructuring that reflects more accurately the reality of the congregation in the 21st century. I am always open to suggestions or improvements, but I find the corrected version much more accurate and true to the unfolding history and mission of the congregation. I have sited primary sources for the congregation to confirm the changes made. Thank you!
