Proposed work group

edit

There is currently discussion regarding the creation of a work group specifically to deal with articles dealing with this subject, among others, here. Any parties interested in working in such a group are welcome to indicate their interest there. Thank you. John Carter (talk) 17:26, 15 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

It has been suggested that article Watch Tower Society presidency dispute (1917) be merged into Pastoral Bible Institute

There was no dispute, this is the story of Pastoral Bible Institute creation - John Belushi (talk) 10:04, 5 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Oppose: Um. No. The dispute did happen, and is attested to by numerous sources. The PBI may have been a consequence of this dispute, but merging the Watch Tower Society presidency dispute (1917) article here is frankly absurd. Vyselink (talk) 20:04, 5 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Oppose—As stated at Talk:Watch Tower Society presidency dispute (1917), there certainly was a dispute, and the Pastoral Bible Institute would be better described as one side (and a much less prominent part) of the result of the dispute.--Jeffro77 (talk) 08:21, 6 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Oppose: Multiple authors have written about the dispute, which caused a significant rupture to the Watchtower movement. The sources are listed in that article. The suggestion that the dispute didn't happen is ludicrous and the proposal to merge the article with the Pastoral Bible Institute one makes no sense at all: that group was just one of several to form in the wake of the schism. Oppose: This is an historical narrative dealing with the sharp fissure that opened between the board of directors of the Watch Tower Society on the subject of governance in general and the powers of the President in particular. The subsequent development of the Jehovah's Witnesses, the Pastoral Bible Institute and other related groups should be dealt with separately.110.141.104.18 (talk) 03:06, 27 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
