Suggested move
editI would like to suggest that this be moved to "Pat Farmer", this being overwhelmingly the most commonly used name. Frickeg (talk) 01:11, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
NPOV
editThis article reads terribly like large tracts of it has been written by the MP or his staff. Shouldn't it be toned down a little? DermottBanana (talk) 10:57, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
- Feedback on current tone and neutrality are now sought in light of changes made to reflect current contribution to the community as a Member of Parliament and ultra-marathon athlete, especially evidence of his contribution to social causes. Jherschel (talk) 04:35, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
- I think the current tone is a lot better, im not sure what it used to look like but it no longer reads like a promotional page.Meatsgains (talk) 03:13, 29 October 2011 (UTC)

Inaccurate use of honorific
editHaving never been a full government minister, Farmer is not entitled to use the honorific "The honourable". As Wikipedia states: The style "the Honourable" is not acquired through membership of either the House of Representatives or the Senate (see Parliament of Australia). A member or senator may have the style if they have acquired it separately, e.g. by being a current or former minister. During proceedings within the chambers, forms such as "the honourable Member for ...", "the honourable the Leader of the Opposition", or "My honourable colleague" are used. This is a parliamentary courtesy and does not imply any right to the style.
- He was, however, a parliamentary secretary, which entitles him to the title. Frickeg (talk) 03:36, 8 October 2014 (UTC)
