Bad joke
editThe article states: "The population most at risk from PFPS are shopaholic women who often times are running in the mall to find best possible deals. (...) Symptoms include discomfort and want to shop." What??
And there are more changes of this kind. I tried to revert them, but something is not working. I do not know how to do this. Please, correct it. Thanks.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 187.139.7.187 (talk) 15:26, 23 July 2016 (UTC)
Headnig
editThis whole article is quite frankly wrong! Patellofemoral pain syndrome refers to pain seemingly originating from the contact of the posterior patella with the femor. It then calls it runners knee (Which it isn't), it then says it is inflammation of the patellar tendon, which is jumpers knee, not runners knee (which is Iliotibial band syndrome), this article would be better off if it were simply removed and done from scratch. This is complete nonsence! I dont know if I should be changing this article, but I am going to... I wont have nonsence like this scattering the net.

Retropatellar pain syndrome is a completely distinct disease from jumper's knee, which is a problem with the tendons. The back of the patella hurts where it rubs against the femur
Bart
Retropatella pain syndrome should not be linked to either Patellar Tendinitis or Jumper's Knee as suggested in the article. As above. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Richardpatto (talk • contribs) 13:13, 27 February 2009 (UTC)
Agree with Bart. Patellofemoral syndrome refers to pain behind the patella, usually in young people. It is thought be caused by damage to posterior cartilage of the patella from malalignment of the patella in the trochlear grove of the femur along with trauma or overuse. (PLEASE NOTE the patellafemoral pain syndrome page is wrong.)
"Jumper's knee" is a colloquial term for tendinitis of the patellar tendon. The "Jumper's knee" page should not be merged with patellofemoral syndrome, but should be re-labelled the more accurate term "Patellar tendinitis".

Complementary and alternative therapies for PFPS
editFollowing the recent edit and query by an IP editor, I started a discussion on WT:MED (found here: Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Medicine#Acupuncture_for_patellofemoral_pain_syndrome) about how this section should be phrased and which source should be written. Please discuss there. Matthew Ferguson 57 (talk) 13:15, 28 January 2015 (UTC)
