Rangsit
editOriginally, the page said that strictly speaking, Rangsit is a district of Bangkok. I am a long-term resident of Bangkok, and that is nonsense. Bangkok is divided into 50 districts, none of which is Rangsit. Rangsit as a political entity is entirely inside Pathum Thani province. It is not even a district, but lower than that, what we call a "tambon," which has no equivalent in the West. A Tambon is part of a district but is not a subdistrict.
- see th:เทศบาลเมืองรังสิต, Rangsit is a Thesaban mueang in Amphoe Thanyaburi, Pathum Thani Province.
Rangsit is the northernmost population center on the outskirts of Bangkok with direct access to BMTA bus lines and is home to a mega mall called "Future Park". Travelers note that the northbound tollway (bypassing the Don Mueang Airport) ends in Rangsit, slightly north of said "Future Park". Northbound intra-provincial buses have their last regular scheduled stop on Pahonyothin Road, across from "Future Park". A smaller bus terminal about 1km north of the "TESCO" super store on Pahonyothin caters for predominately Isaan bound passengers. Licensed Minivans operate from a parking lot within the "Future Park" complex and serve all major traffic hubs within Bangkok and surrounding areas. Rangsit does have a railway station for Bangkok bound trains coming from all northern and northeasterly directions. Vice versa, passengers can board trains and head out on the northern route (Chiang Mai) or northeastern route (Nong Khai). A larger number of private and government run hospitals are dotted throughout Rangsit. The convenient shopping opportunities and reasonable rental housing made Rangsit quite popular with the professional staff working at surrounding factories. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Abstinent (talk • contribs) 10:07, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, not tambon (subdistrict, a central administrative entity), but a town (thesaban mueang), a local government unit. The page Rangsit already contains the link for the article on the town. But of course it's right that it's not a district of Bangkok. andy (talk)

Map and page are confusing
editThe map is confusing and appears to be missing sub-districts. Reading a Bangkok Post story I can't find the places they suggest exist in wikipedia's info on this province. It just could be better.
