The article fails to mention the Latin Patriarch of Jeruselem, who is also a partriarch of the Latin Ritual Church within the Catholic Church. Also the article fails to define what is meant by "Western Church". Surely the Luterans, Presbyterians, Anglicans and Methodists are not indicated, are they?

This article's heading is "Patriarch of Venice". For general discussion of patriarch see the articles "patriarch" and "patriarchate". There is as of 12 March 2005 no article about "Western Church" yet. However, there are articles "Latin rite" and "Roman Catholic Church". See them first before creating the article. --Eleassar777 17:10, 12 Mar 2005 (UTC)

It may be best to merge this page with the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Venice. 22 May 2006

I disagree. The office has had some pretty influential holders, and is steeped in tradition related to the Patriarchy. A diocese is different and distinct.--Ror 17:11, 8 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Mitrescola.jpg

edit

Image:Mitrescola.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Patriarchs created cardinals

edit

Should we still speak that traditionally the patriarchs are created cardinals at the consistory following their appointment? The current patriarch is still a non-cardinal, although there were three consistories in the meantime. Gugganij (talk) 21:14, 24 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
