Pronunciation of name
editIs anyone able to confirm how the name of the Irish actor Paudge Behan is pronounced? Is it "podj" or "pordj", "bə-HAHN" or "BEE-ən"? I'd like to add an IPA transcription and respelled pronunciation to the article. Thanks. — Cheers, Truth's Out There –talk– 19:55, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
- It's pronounced approximately "Pawdge BEE-ən". "Paudge" does not rhyme with "lodge". The stress is on the first syllable of the surname. Someone else will have to turn that into IPA. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.198.199.25 (talk) 20:06, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Brilliant! Thanks very much. — Cheers, Truth's Out There –talk– 23:32, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

This article is in decent shape, but it needs more work before it becomes a Good Article.
- Is it well written?
- A. The prose is clear and concise, and the spelling and grammar are correct:
- In the Education and career section, this sentence ---> "Other films that Behan appeared in include", "in" makes the sentence read strange, it would be best if it were removed. Same section, "In 2006" it would be best if there was a comma placed after 2006.
- Fixed. — Cheers, Truth's Out There –talk– 10:30, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
- Check. -- ThinkBlue (Hit BLUE) 15:43, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

- B. It complies with the manual of style guidelines for lead sections, layout, words to watch, fiction, and list incorporation:
- In the Family and early life section, it would be best to add (IRA) after "Irish Republican Army", I mean I know what it is, but how 'bout the person that reads this article.
- Fixed, although the sentence read "... Irish Republican Army and the Official IRA ...", so I would have thought it was fairly obvious that "IRA" stood for "Irish Republican Army". — Cheers, Truth's Out There –talk– 10:30, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
- I know, but believe me, there are some users who might have a trouble knowing what "IRA" just means. I mean, I got it, but its also helpful for the other users and stuff. Check. -- ThinkBlue (Hit BLUE) 15:43, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

- A. The prose is clear and concise, and the spelling and grammar are correct:
- Is it verifiable with no original research, as shown by a source spot-check?
- A. It contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline:
- For the memoirs stated in the Family and early life section, I would suggest using the {{cite book}} template. Same section, I believe this ---> "Olivia Kelly (2003-12-09), "Ahern incurs wrath of Paudge Behan", The Irish Times (reproduced on Indymedia Ireland), <http://www.indymedia.ie/article/62593> .</ref>" needs to be fixed properly.
- Fixed: The stray </ref> tag was because another editor wrongly inserted another such tag earlier on in the article, which I have removed. I've used the {{citation}} template throughout, following "Wikipedia:Citing sources#Technical details": "The {{Citation}} template is intended to provide citations for many types of references. The other family has names of the form {{Cite xxx}} (for example, {{Cite book}} and {{Cite web}}). These two families produce different citation styles. ... Thus, these two families should not be mixed in the same article." [Original emphasis.] — Cheers, Truth's Out There –talk– 10:30, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

- B. Reliable sources are cited inline. All content that could reasonably be challenged, except for plot summaries and that which summarizes cited content elsewhere in the article, must be cited no later than the end of the paragraph (or line if the content is not in prose):
- Is there a source for this ---> "Other films that Behan appeared in include A Man of No Importance (1994), Conspiracy of Silence (2003) and Veronica Guerin (2003). In the latter film, he played Brian Meehan, who was convicted of murdering Irish crime journalist Veronica Guerin in 1996"?

Privacy of names, BLP
editThe Wikimedia Foundation received a letter of complaint about the use of private names in this article (viewable by OTRS agents as Ticket:2009082710063075. I have removed the names of his step-siblings in accordance with WP:BLPNAME. A single reference to an obituary does not clear the threshold established there for inclusion. Very likely, the names of other siblings should be removed for the same reason. I have removed reference to his father's partner as well under WP:BLPNAME, particularly as the cited source does not clearly identify which if any of the other children may be hers. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:57, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
