photo of subject
editAm I allowed to include a photo from the jacket of one of Boles' books (1953)? Pbergerd (talk) 23:10, 31 October 2024 (UTC) .. or a photo from a newspaper obituary?
- All of those photos are copyrighted, but it would be acceptable to upload just one such photo using Template:Non-free biog-pic as a fair use rationale. You can upload it with the Wikipedia:File_upload_wizard following the prompts for a non-free image. ~ L 🌸 (talk) 20:30, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
- The dust jacket photo you added has all been handled correctly copyright-wise and the photo is great! Such a fun portrait of him. Thanks for adding it! ~ L 🌸 (talk) 00:55, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
Timeline would be better as prose
editI noticed that some good work is being done organizing information chronologically in the "timeline" section, but I wanted to note that such timelines are very rarely suitable on a simple biography page. (We use them more for things like Timeline of the French Revolution.) So for this article it would be ideal to develop the timeline into prose paragraphs organized into logical sections. Happy to offer more specific advice on that process if it would be helpful. ~ L 🌸 (talk) 20:32, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for your input. I was trying to organize the information. I'm a better information gatherer than writer, but I'll see what i can do. Pbergerd (talk) 18:06, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
