Name

The capitalisation of this article implies that the band is called [the] Paul McCartney Band (as opposed to "Paul McCartney's band"). Is this actually the official name of the band, or would a move to "Paul McCartney's band" (or something equivalent) be appropriate? MIDI (talk) 07:44, 9 May 2023 (UTC)

Seven months and no comments on this. I've gone through the references, and other than the Wales Online article (which was published after the WP article and therefore I don't trust that it's not referencing it), only ONE reference we use refers to "The Paul McCartney Band" (i.e. proper noun) rather than "Paul McCartney's band" or the "Paul McCartney band". The citation that does use The Paul McCartney Band is this one from Modern Rock Review. I don't know how reliable MRR is, but it describes the group as "what is commonly referred to as "The Paul McCartney Band'" which is, from using our references as a barometer, not particularly accurate. MRR implies that "The Paul McCartney Band" refers to the lineup from Driving Rain onwards, which means the sections on former members and the first paragraph of the History refer to something different. To that end, "Paul McCartney's band" is an accurate representation of what our article discusses. Given the time elapsed since I first raised this, I am invoking WP:SILENCE.
