Wrong picture

Why is there a picture of THE SUPER BOOB? If it's a joke, I don't get it.

Does this page have a history of vandalism? hostile17 21:27, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

His father

On the latest show he stated that his father used to be the drummer in an Irish band. Completely useless fact, but i thought i'd add it here anyway. Ethoen — Preceding undated comment added 16:58, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

Savage

Is there no Lily Savage page??? (anon)

Lily's return?

On The New Paul O Grady Show today (12th June 2006), he said "Lily Savage, oh please, she's escaped the convent and she's heading towards these shores, shoot on site!"

...well Paul originally "retired" Lily by saying she was going off to a convent... so could this be a signal that he's bringing her back? I hope so! TR_Wolf

Television - rather pointless?

I've just deleted the comment "More recently Paul reinvented himself as a sexy hunk of man meat" as it seems too coloquial and simply unneeded as the rest of the paragraph explains this without the comment. Grinned2death 21:49, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

Buster

is he dead? not seen him in a while and a letter today said "sorry about buster".--Crestville 16:56, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

From what I heard, the dog has a cyst or something on or behind the eye and may lose the sight in one eye because of it. But definately not dead. They showed a picture of Buster yesterday and Paul was pretty down about it.

Buster a Shih Tzu?

Are you sure, Buster is a Shih Tzu? Don't they normally have long, straight hair? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.134.43.5 (talk) 17:56, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

"Lily Savage (the "Birkenhead bombshell"), a vampish Liverpudlian woman". This is, I'm afraid, a contradiction in terms. "A vampish Merseyside woman" would be correct. The great physical divide of the Mersey divides Liverpudlians from the non-Liverpudlians on the other bank.

I live in Tranmere, which is part of Birkenhead and several of my neighbours come from Bootle, which is over the river, as far as I recall. I would also to inform the author that the fantastic public transport in the area means all mersey pedestrians can cross the mersey in less than 15 mins. So, I'd say, just because someone lives in Birkenhead, it doesn't mean they're not scouse, myself. 88.212.174.4 23:55, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Lilysavage 1.jpg

Image:Lilysavage 1.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot 05:21, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

'Likes' removed

I have removed this section as virtually all the information was unverified, and absolutely all of it was irrelevant. Wikipedia is not a fan site - if people want to read about Paul O'Grady's likes and dislikes they can do that on his own website. This is supposedly an encyclopaedia. Smurfmeister 12:39, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Put his willy in?

Erm?? That's not how it's supposed to read, right? This is exactly how it reads, i think we all understand what is meant by the above title. (1207) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.194.220.7 (talk) 09:15, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Full name added

Paul said on today's show that his full name was Paul James Michael O'Grady, so I've amended the front page to reflect this. Cipher (Talk to the hand) 17:26, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

Sexuality

I have removed the reference to him being 'LGB'. I realise there has been some confusion over whether O'Grady indentifies as gay or bisexual, but I think it's pretty safe to say he's not a lesbian. Smurfmeister (talk) 10:23, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

Protection

Due to edit warring over which infobox is appropriate in this article (which is heading for WP:LAME territory), it has been protected for 4 days. Please use the time to come to a consensus on which infobox to use. If you arrive at one before that, list it at WP:RFPU for attention and unprotection. Stifle (talk) 10:38, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

(ec)This is irrelevant. The one editor seeking to change the infobox is a daily sockpuppet of blocked User:WJH1992. It follows that these edits can, and will, be reverted on sight. If WJH1992 wants to participate by being unblocked, he should do it on that account, not use up to two IPs and a new account every single day to do it. WP:AGF has long run out for this editor. --Rodhullandemu 10:56, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
It appears that the IP involved in this current edit war has been accused of sockpuppetry anyway. I tried to start a discussion with them (I asked why they felt it was appropriate to use that infobox) but they ignored my request. I don't see what advantages the {{Infobox actor}} brings over {{Infobox celebrity}}, other than perhaps the section for awards (which is documented anyway later in the page). ~~ [Jam][talk] 10:53, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
This sock does exactly what he wants. I've had three months of dealing with him. WP:RBI. --Rodhullandemu 10:57, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
Fair enough. Is it perhaps worth permanently semi-protecting this article then? ~~ [Jam][talk] 11:01, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
No, other IP's are usually fine, it's just this guy. Semi-pp for all the articles he targets would be too much. It's easier just to pick him up when he starts and block him. He tends to set up a new account ech day, and those get indeffed on sight. --Rodhullandemu 11:06, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
Would a range block of the IPs that are frequently used help? Or am I just suggesting things that have already been thought of :). ~~ [Jam][talk] 11:16, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
Nice thought, but he uses two ISPs at least, and the ranges I've seen so far would cause too much collateral damage. May be worth a secod look, however. --Rodhullandemu 11:18, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
At least the 88.109.xx, 88.110.xx, 88.111.xx, 77.102.xxx and 212.139.xx ranges have been used recently. Looking at Category:Suspected Wikipedia sockpuppets of WJH1992, a few more ranges have been used before. While the 88.1xxx ragness have been the most often used, it is a much to wide range to act against (as far as I know). Continuing with Revert, Block, Ignore is the most workable solution, since he edits a too large number of articles to semiprotect them all in mu opinion. Fram (talk) 11:29, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Possible heart attack again?

Apparently he has been admitted to hospital with chest pains this morning, guess we will see what happens.. Here —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.47.85.182 (talkcontribs) 18:56, 27 September 2006 Tagged by Thor Malmjursson (talk) 13:00, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Andre Portasio

The infobox says Paul's partner has been Andre Portasio since 2005, but the source (from 2008) can only confirm (at most) that they have been together since 2008. Googling around doesn't reveal any further sources that confirm this earlier date. Should it be removed or changed to 2008? ~~ [ジャム][t - c] 10:24, 10 May 2009 (UTC)

We can use it here if you took the picture, own the copyright, and are prepared to release it under a compatible licence such as GFDL + CC-BY-SA3.0 (which basically means it can be redistributed as long as you get a credit). Rodhullandemu 20:47, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Is he gay? I heard he was married and/or had a kid, but then realised he was gay. Also, needs to mention his heart attack.--Crestville 15:08, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

Doesn't that make him a functional bisexual? You could say the same of Oscar Wilde, so there's no tarnish to his gay halo ;)Nuttyskin (talk) 19:11, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
He used to be actively bisexual, but is now homosexual. Jim Michael (talk) 21:54, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

Daughter's name

Adoption of Tulip

Paul did not adopt Tulip, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier/ Boxer cross, he fostered her for a couple of days before he realised one of his dogs was not getting along with her. Tulip was adopted by a woman later in the episode (aired 30/10/2014). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.198.121.40 (talk) 21:01, 30 October 2014 (UTC)

Discussion

  • Comment: CB2288 Hello! I am happy to review your article. However, this article may fail the GA criteria. According to the criteria Section 1.3, it says an article will immediately fail GA status if It contains copyright infringements. The reason why the article may contain copyright infringements is because the photograph in the infobox claims it is used under CC by 2.0, and was verified by MGA73 on November 1, 2009. However, I checked the image on the original source, and it claims it's copyrighted. This could be a copyright infringement, but I did not want to close this as "failed" because I would like your comments, and to see if this is a copyright infringement or not. Was this licensed under CC by 2.0 when this was uploaded, and the author later changed the licences later on? I look forward to collaborating with you on this matter. Cheers. CookieMonster755 (talk) 02:31, 9 April 2015 (UTC)
Yes I reviewed File:Paul O'Grady, April 2009 cropped.jpg on November 1, 2009. The file is a crop of File:Paul O'Grady, April 2009.jpg and that file was reviewed on May 10, 2009 by Commons:User:FlickreviewR so it is 100 % sure that the file was licensed freely in 2009. So there is no problems with the copyright of the file. --MGA73 (talk) 14:37, 9 April 2015 (UTC)
MGA73 & CB2288 — I checked with Wikimedia Commons guidelines, and your right. At the time of the upload to Wikimedia, the licencor made it available under CC by 2.0. However, after it was uploaded, the licencor changed the status to copyrighted it. However, having it on Commons is not a copyright infringement. According to these guidelines, CC licenses are not revocable. This article still qualifies as GA. I will continue to review the article, to see if it passes GA. Glad we got that qualified. Cheers!
