First secretary of education?
editThe article suggests that Parks was the first Massachusetts Secretary of Education, but I can't find a citation supporting that. You may mean that Parks was the first African-American Secretary of Education? If you check our historical newspapers online, there are many additional newspaper sources you could add to this. I can see that you've done a lot of research in the archives, which is great! But it would be good to also flesh out the article with more book and newspaper sources -- let me know if you need help with the research piece. AmandaRR123 (talk) 18:16, 4 March 2015 (UTC)
Copyedits
editI've tried to tweak some of the prose, more editing is needed; also, I think you should refer to the subject as Parks (rather than Paul). -Reagle (talk) 12:16, 11 March 2015 (UTC)
I think this is a very interesting article! Overall it is very informative but the section I edited, the one about his engineering firm, is hard to read. The last few sentences specifically do not flow well. I did't want to delete them entirely so it wouldn't mess the source up, but you may want to look into rewording them. Links and disambiguate
editIf you look at "what links here" you will see lots of links to this page for people that are not this subject (including am musician). We will have to disambiguate. -Reagle (talk) 12:16, 11 March 2015 (UTC)
New Sections
editI made a few major edits to this article. In addition to cleaning up some of the older references, I elongated the overall article by adding new sections such as early life and education, military and engineering career, films, and controversy. Novelrod (talk) 05:39, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
