Removal of content
editplease don't remove so much content from the page without talking about it here first. i'll get some more sources. Nefesf9 (talk) 09:20, 3 July 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry, but it works the other way. WP:BURDEN Content cannot be returned until the person who wishes to add it to the article provides the source. Active Banana (talk) 11:40, 3 July 2010 (UTC)
- ok, sorry. I'm very new, so I dont know that policy. can you suggest things I can do to the article to improve it ? thanks.Nefesf9 (talk) 18:57, 3 July 2010 (UTC)
- Add informaton that can be backed by reliable sources, and provide sources for all claims in the article. See WP:CITE. If you can find legal copies of the source on line, link to them. If you can find free, legal' copies, even better! And if there are sources that are available in English, use them. (books.google.com and news.google.com and scholar.google.com are good places to start looking).
- Make sure that all claims are presented in a neutral point of view: WP:NPOV - this means that any statement is neutral in its presentation and both positive and negative aspect of the topic are covered in the proportions that they are covered in reliable sources.
- Unlike papers that you have written for school, make sure that you as a wikipedia editor are not making any interpretations or analysis or commentary that are not specifically present in the sources (we call that original research: WP:OR)
- Recognize that other people are going to be editing the article
- It seems to be off to a good start, thanks for adding sources! Active Banana (talk) 02:09, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
- ok, thanks lots. Ill continue working on the article. i will take some time, because my English is not so good, and I need to put some work (with the dictionary) into writing good english articles. good practice ! Nefesf9 (talk) 19:13, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
tags
editcan someone put a biography/Lithuania/art tag on this page ? I cant work out how to do it myself. Nefesf9 (talk) 18:42, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
Started "Legacy" section
editI started a Legacy section to highlight the image of the stamps made in his honor. I am not really sure of the details and if the wording needs to be tweeked or substantially reworked, by all means clarify, and if we can get a 3rd party citation that would be good too.
Other things that can be added in this section are artists/movements insprired by him or those that developed in opposite ways in reaction to his work. And major exhibitions of his work, post death. Any buildings or schools etc named after him. And the incorporation of him into works of fiction/movies. Active Banana (talk) 17:40, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
Military service.
editwhen I say that he was "honourably discharged", all I mean was that he didn't desert and he wasn't forced out of the army because he didn't obey his officers or something. I've removed the word "honourably", in case this gives a different impression in English, but if anyone wants to claim that he deserted, they need to find a source (it doesnt say so in anything ive read).
