Article Links
editI'm debating with myself whether to yank the list of interior links further down the page. There's the argument that those are all pertinent articles, but then there's the (IMO excellent) point that those only need to be cited once in the body of their appropriate articles (fairing subpages are probably unnecessary, cars are cited inline - with the exception of the P55 prototype, and the boats are mentioned on the West Marine Ltd. article. Do any other companies enjoy full, upfront listings of their myriad devices? Wouldn't the Mitsubishi page look like a certain part of the human anatomy if they did the same? In short, does anyone have any thoughts on what logic should reign here? Orethrius 09:57, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
- I'm going to pull the automotive links - the Peel P55 is now mentioned as the appropriate prototype in the Peel P50 page, and the rest are linked in the introductory paragraph. Orethrius 10:10, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
- A quick Google around the world found exactly ZERO links to Peel Hovercraft that didn't redirect to some recreational company based in Boca Raton (exaggeration, but certainly nothing on the Isle of Man). I'm going to pull it as unsubstantiated, and the Go-karts go too if I can't find evidence of their existence. The other removals should be fairly self-explanatory. I am going to pull the External Link to Peel Engineering Company. This is a new company located in the UK not connected in any way to the original Peel Engineering Company on the Isle of Man. The new one was simply a company name purchased from Companies House in the UK for the purpose of making electric replica P50's and Tridents for sale in the UK. Their own website has a short history of the original Peel Engineering Company but is misleading in that it says that In recent years Peel has been aquired by car enthusiast Gary Hillman and Faizal Khan. The reality is that they only purchased the rights to the name for use in the UK. The original Peel Engineering Company never actually had any UK name rights. No one thought to lock up the name until 2 of the vehicles produced there became highly collectible.--Microcars (talk) 18:49, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
Nit pickery
editThis article has a whole bunch of UK categories/tags at the bottom of the page, but as the Isle of Man page is keen to point out, the Isle of Man is not part of the UK. :-) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.16.40.113 (talk) 20:31, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
The Company
editI think it is important to keep this article as an example of Isle of Man manufacturing, but you will notice I have included the dates of formation and dissolution as taken from the Isle of Man Companies Registry to avoid any confusion with the newly formed UK company. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Maugholdman (talk • contribs) 23:04, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
