Bayfront Parkway and Bayfront Connector

I have two locally available Erie street maps, one published by UniversalMap, and the other published by MapWorks. Both maps were issued before completion of Route 290 and the Bayfront Connector, the latter of which is penciled in on both maps as the East Side Access Highway. This article seems to dodge the issue of whether the Bayfront Parkway and the Bayfront Connector are in fact PA Route 290. Note that there is even an internal link to the Bayfront Parkway in this article. I can testify that if you continue westbound long enough on the Bayfront Parkway, you simply end up on southbound I-79 without taking an exit. I recommend that the article make it clear that both the Bayfront Pkwy and Bayfront Connector are PA 290. I further suggest that Bayfront Parkway and Bayfront Connector redirect pages be created. --Pat 05:22, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

According to this map PA 290 follows the Bayfront Connector until its reaches 12^th Street, after that it follows 12^th to I-79. I don't think PA 290 is ever on the actual Bayfront Parkway. --​​​​Dtbohrer​​​​^{talk•contribs} 16:38, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

I didn't grasp the definition of duplex. Now I understand the text and its discussion of the routing of 290 through town on 12th Street to the connector. Thanks for the assist. It would seem more logical for 290 to loop around the bayfront to the connector instead of joining the more local 12th Street.--Pat 16:26, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

The article states that 290 exists entirely within the city of erie, when in fact the easternmost part of it extends into Harborcreek Township24.165.191.17 (talk) 08:44, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

Proposed merge with Bayfront Connector

Pennsylvania Route 290 and the Bayfront Connector are synonymous. Even though PA 430 also follows the Bayfront Connector PA 290 is a better merge choice since all of the connector is PA 290. Dough4872 01:30, 20 October 2014 (UTC)
