Following the Indian Trail of the same name, Glades Road was completed in 1772 and led from Bedford to Somerset. The road became modern day PA Route 31, went through the towns of Mount Pleasant, West Newton, Monongahela, and Washington that had organized underground railroads. -- JA10 ^{T · C} 05:56, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

Somerset, the county seat, was laid out in 1795, incorporated as a borough on March 5, 1804 and was located on the turnpike road leading from Bedford to Pittsburgh, now known at Route 31.

I know what this annon is saying. I found out that PA 131 was at Buena Road east of PA 96 in Manns Choice according to the 1930 state map. -- JA10 ^{T · C} 21:00, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
