Merge

Agree with the move, however the article is UScentric. Bands that play in pubs and bars and clubs and at sporting events in countries outside the US are not called pep-bands. Indeed, they are mostly reffered to by their genre.Shades1Of1Grey 08:28, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Separate Entities

Merging with Marching Band would incinuate that Pep bands are a subset of marching bands only, excluding concert bands from the mix. It makes more sense to leave it as a separate entity, and include information about a pep band, and possibly even link it to its counterparts in other countries. --Silivrenion 22:23, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

I agree, I don't think we should merge the articles either. In many casesmarching bands and pep bands consist of different people, play different music, and perform at completely different functions.--Nightengale989 00:56, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

While pep bands can contain members from the marching band or concert band, it is quite common for pep bands to have members outside those groups. In addition to this, as stated above, the pep band is used for entirely different purposes and plays different music at different kinds of events. A pep band is usually used in a sporting event or situation where a regular marching band would not be feasible. Delta 03:45, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
