What ambition?

edit

"He has achieved this ambition many times over"

What ambition? To change his name? I think it is a bit unclear. 83.216.104.49 10:11, 14 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Notability

edit

He is clearly notable, meeting criteria #1. He has written many, many articles in peer-reviewed journals, of which the ones I have added are merely a sample. Nominate the article for deletion if you insist, rather than re-adding the tag. ╟─TreasuryTagstannary parliament─╢ 13:37, 4 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yes of course he is notable, but he is not mentioned once in Wheen's How Mumbo-Jumbo Conquered the World: A Short History of Modern Delusions. Check it out on Google Books. Search for "David Ashworth" or "Perri 6." The words aren't mentioned in the entire book. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.91.41.107 (talk) 15:31, 21 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
The book has no preview available according to Google Books, so I'm not sure what your point is... ╟─TreasuryTagvoice vote─╢ 15:39, 21 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Why is someone undoing reasonable comments on this item. Pathetic. It is a fact that Peri 6 was not an academic at the time of changing his name because I clearly remember it at the time. He worked for various voluntary groups and then NCVO. I am not going to write this item, mainly because it seems pointless, but those editing and then protecting their flimsy evidence base, should get off their bottoms and do some proper research. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.23.12.115 (talk) 21:42, 10 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Plonkerness

edit

This heading speaks for itself. Would you employ someone calling himself 6? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.104.144.92 (talk) 16:38, 28 January 2012 (UTC) On the other hand, his idiotic renaming of himself is perhaps the only reason anyone would notice him.Reply

Yes, attention seeking. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.104.113.175 (talk) 19:04, 10 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Question about sorting

edit

In the past, I have changed the sort order for this talk page to Perri 6. I wonder why it was reverted. I would have thought natural language order would have been fine. Is there a reason or Wiki policy why it is sorted as 6, P or 6, Perri? Would anyone searching for this person use that string? Thank you.--FeanorStar7 (talk) 13:57, 11 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

People are usually indexed by surname. Tony Blair isn't indexed under 'T' any more than Lily Montagu is under 'L' or Brian Blessed is under 'B' – oh hang on a minute...
Stupid as it is, "6" is this guy's surname. Full stop. ╟─TreasuryTagSpeaker─╢ 14:46, 11 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the info. And if I had bothered to read the second sentence in the article more closely, I would have known... ;) Sorry for the trouble... So let it be written, so let it be done! --FeanorStar7 (talk) 15:00, 11 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
