Not much mention on Perris, Cal. has drew a crowd of skydivers, amateur and professional, gave the town a nickname: The "skydiving capital of America". Perris experienced suburban growth in the last 20 years and the northern end are entirely covered in houses. Downtown Perris is thriving with businesses and traffic congestion on I-215 and along Perris Blvd. that was expanded to handle more cars. Perris has a diversity of races and cultures, of course the large presence of Hispanics and African Americans in the area, and a chosen place for young families, single urban professionals and retirees in nearby Sun City. The city limits signs had new population estimates as it reads 75,000 and Perris has grown indeed: 5 times since 1990. Unbelievable, the new master planned communities of May Ranch and Green Valley are worth $450,000 and rising: Ironically, its' considered affordable in so. Cal. --Mike D 26 00:28, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

Skydiving, Low Test Scores, and Activists

I've cut everything after "the skydiving capital of America" from this paragraph:

The nearby, privately owned, Perris Valley Airport (FAA designator: L65) has a 5,100-foot (1,600 m) runway. Perris has drawn a crowd of skydivers, amateur and professional, to Perris Valley Skydiving. The area's sudden fame gave Perris the nickname: "the skydiving capital of America". However, the noise from these skydiving planes' constantly circling the city is a source of irritation to its residents. The constant low frequency noise from these skydiving planes also permeates throughout homes and schools in the city and may even be a contributing factor to the low test scores among its ethnically diverse student population. (http://www.fican.org/pdf/FICAN_Schools_Study_Handout.pdf). This report does not specifically mention the Perris airport, but has been a tool used by local activists. However, it should be noted that the former March Air Force Base (now March Air Reserve Base) is near Perris and very noisy military aircraft of all kinds, from B-29s to B-52s, KC-97 Stratotankers and various fighters have flown over the city for 60 years and it has not affected the educational process.

Why are we given all that information in the introductory section? If there's a controversy over aicraft noise, put it in an "aviation noise controversy" section but not here. I wonder whether this is even relevant for the purpose of an encyclopedia article. Furthermore, "has been a tool used by local activists" sounds like one person's opinion and should probably not even be returned to the article. Michael Patrick (talk) 20:06, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Metrolink extension

If metrolink will ever be extended to Perris, the station will be where the old station was and where the current bus station is. The date I believe in unknown.--Ymblanter (talk) 19:08, 16 April 2012 (UTC)
