Since we now have two Perry Mason shows (one 1957 one 2020), and that the primary for "Perry Mason (TV series)" can't be said to be the 1957 one, I feel it's pretty obvious Perry Mason (TV series) should redirect to a generic page and not to either one of the two.

So I pointed it to Perry Mason (disambiguation), and started the task of editing the 1000+ articles that use Perry Mason (TV series) expecting it to lead to the 1957 article. I got reverted. Presumably by someone that feels some articles are "too big to fail" as it were, policy be damned.

This edit has restored the problem described above. CapnZapp and Steel1943: With 1,000+ incoming links that editors intended to point to the original TV series, it made more sense to me to bypass those redirects first and then change this redirect to point to a dab page. But if you are both willing to fix the links while having 1,000+ pages (1,194 at this writing) point to a dab page that editors did not intend to point to, please do it your way. @Jonesey95: So here's the deal: I'm going to fix as much as I can, but rigorous (and honestly, kind of bureaucratic) enforcement of WP:FIXDABLINKS is not a good reason to perform a revert that goes against WP:INCDAB and WP:PRECISE. Thank you. Steel1943 (talk) 20:25, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
