Should be unambiguated to include Pete Williams, the fighter: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UFC_17/queer

Outing

No mention of his being "outed" by Michelangelo Signorile? [1] A wp:blp issue? ~ Alcmaeonid (talk) 15:20, 9 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Other programs

Should there be mention that Pete Williams is a frequent contributor to Washington Week with Gwen Ifill on PBS? I don't know if he's on any other news programs on a fairly regular basis. This article seems pretty light on his reporting history.Jtyroler (talk) 20:18, 30 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

This video shows Williams being torn apart by an oscar winning documentary interviewer. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Blahblahbuenas (talkcontribs) 05:58, 13 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Personal life

In my view, material in this excerpt from Barney Frank's autobiography belongs in the Pete Williams Wikipedia article. Others may disagree, so I'm holding off on inserting it. Please review this page. To find the material in question, just search for "Pete Williams". David in DC (talk) 18:59, 22 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

This article from the Chicago Trib is also relevant. David in DC (talk) 19:03, 22 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Michelangelo_Signorile#The_outing_controversy covers this topic, as well. WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS applies, I suppose, but we look kinda silly including the info as reliably sourced in another BLP, but being silent about it here. David in DC (talk) 19:07, 22 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

I can't imagine that it is normal practice to include the sexual preferences of persons in their WP articles - why say that someone is gay but not specify that they are hetero, or like "big bottoms", or that they enjoy some BSDM? Personal life usually includes marriage, family, where one lives, some mention of children if appropriate, but not sexual activity preferences. LaMona (talk) 20:12, 22 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
I guess I wasn't clear. It's not his sexual orientation that I think is newsworthy. It's the role his being closeted played in Cheney breaking ground on whether homosexuals were a security risk (Cheney calls it an "old chestnut" which he thinks may be out-dated) and the notable coverage about Signorile and The Advocate outing a prominent Pentagon official.
There's also coverage about Williams choking up on camera when reporting on the Supreme Court's deceision in Obergefell v. Hodges. For instance: [2] and [3] David in DC (talk) 21:55, 22 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
What kind of brain damaged argument is that? Rafe87 (talk) 23:23, 9 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
