"DeRose"?

edit

Why is it spelled like that here? Isn't it "de Rose"? You'd think getting the name of the subject of the article right would be a priority. --82.93.10.238 12:26, 11 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

DeRose is used here. Klbrain (talk) 10:14, 8 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

not when the deep

edit

The name of the song is Deep Purple, not When the Deep Purple Falls. This is confirmed by all the web references I have checked, and both versions of the sheet music I have seen. "When the" and "falls" were not part of the title of the instrumental publised in the early 30s, but were included in the lyric that Mitch Parrish wrote a few years later.

So I made the change.----Tom Harwick —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.163.0.12 (talk) 03:13, 11 March 2007 (UTC).Reply

Birthdate

edit

On his headstone, his year of birth is given as 1896 (photo). This is more consistent with his credit as co-writer of "Meet Me in the Land of Grapico" published in 1916. (see Grapico). --Dystopos (talk) 22:47, 16 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Date amended ... seems to have been an issue outstanding for a while ... Klbrain (talk) 09:50, 8 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
