editHi, I started the article which is a translation of the Ukrainian version and is in a series about prominent bandurists. I invited Mr Deriashnyj to view the article and make additions and corrections. --Bandurist 22:06, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
Hi, This article was placed on Wikipedia before 18th March 2010 date stated in the criteria for removal. Information was added from 2007 to 2010 as dates, events and details were able to be confirmed from archival sources. The sources stated at the bottom of the article are true and verifiable. Please note the additional sources added that verify details stated in the article. Hard copies of same can be provided on request. More sources will be added. -- User:Kharkiv Bandurist
Who are Mike Rosoft, Ucucha and DynamoDegsy ???
I have just read your explanations to the above questions- thank you for taking the time to explain. Recently I looked at the article and saw a delete tag at the top and thought that months of research and work were going to be deleted. I became most upset.
I only started writing this article on request from "Bandurist" who has a doctorate in the art of bandura and he thought it would be of the public and historic interest to detail my 40+ years in the field of bandura. In the paragraph on "Duet Performances" where the extent of our (Wife and I) experience is stated we have no citation to provide you with save a possible statement by "Bandurist". Although it is known by us and him (Bandurist) that there are no bandurists in the Diaspora or Ukraine that have played the Kharkiv Style bandura for 40+ years. As "Bandurist" tells us, that does makes us the most experienced Kharkiv style bandurists. Someone in Sydney, Australia with IP of 122.107.67.119 may not agree but those art the facts and simply because they have not been documented in print as yet does not make them "DUBIOUS".
Also in the area of sacred music - my statements regarding the availability of music for the 12 main Feast Days of the Orthodox faith have been challenged. I would now also challenge the person involved to point me to sources where such music can be purchased. In fact I know not any where in the world where a publication with all the music for these feast days is available. This is because there is no STANDARDISATION of this music and every parish or eparchy tend to write their own.
As to awards and medals please explain how I am to verify these awards. In some instances I have certificates to confirm the award, in some instances I have only the medal with no paper work. These awards are not of a National significance - more of an ethnic, community significance. What to do????
Many of the adjectives used (renowed, widley known, accomplished, experienced) and tagged as peacock terms were selected by "Bandurist" who as I said has a doctorate in this field and who saw them as appropriate. But again someone in Sydney, Australia with IP of 122.107.67.119 does not. But that's generally the case - most artists are not fully recognised or appreciated in their place of abode..... (Kharkiv kobzar (talk) 15:09, 1 November 2010 (UTC))
I also note that "repertoire" and "students" have been tagged as un-encyclopedic - as you please, but let me explain that each song listed is a uniquely "Australian" arrangement and from the historic perspective of what songs were sung and performed over the past 40 years I consider they are worthy of preservation. As for the list of students - they to are precious few and each contributed uniquely to the history of bandura in Australia. It would be a shame to delete them. Please consider....(Kharkiv kobzar (talk) 15:25, 1 November 2010 (UTC))
Photograph Removal back on 20th May 2010. On 20th May 2010 - Zscout370 removed two photographs from this article. I gave Wikipedia OTRS approval via email on the 2nd April 2010. The email address was wiki@wikimedia.org. This is the address your instruction notes provided. I can re-send them since I still have them in my archives. Why did YOU not have a record of the approvals for Khotkevich_quartet.jpg and Deriashny.jpg that you found it necessary to remove the photos??? Can you please return them.(Kharkiv kobzar (talk) 16:30, 1 November 2010 (UTC))
Please replace the photographs (URGENTLY) that were removed by Zscout370 in May 2010. Also replace the very old original photo that was attached to this article back in 2007. Thank you!(211.30.205.58 (talk) 08:22, 2 November 2010 (UTC))
The comments posted on this article are aimed purely to provide the person posting it, an excuse to remove it from Wikipedia. I testify to the fact that all the facts in this article are absolutely correct. It has been written by sources who know the individual and his work, and since this article is not a LITERARY work where the style in which it is written is of little consequence when the facts have been presented clearly, objectively, correctly and are easy to read. As for citing references and sources -check out the list, it is as complete as is possible.
I would ask "LibStar" and "Smakbot" to please remove the unnecessary "Multiple Issues" comment and stop attacking this article. From my perspective your comments are unwarranted and it appears you have a specific agenda in wanting to removing this article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kharkiv kobzar (talk • contribs) 02:14, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
- smakbot is an automated script! it is not an attack on the article. the article hinges on 3 sources, much more is required to make it a good article. it needs a lot of improvement. LibStar (talk) 01:39, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
Query on source
editwhat exactly is "Бyлава"? it is too general for someone to find this source. see WP:SAYWHEREYOUGOTIT. LibStar (talk) 02:07, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
Books LLC: Unreliable sources
editI added the template {{Unreliable sources}} to the article because it cites about a dozen times from two publications from Books LLC. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 09:50, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
- I'm removing Books LLC references. they are not reliable sources for WP since they use WP as a source. LibStar (talk) 08:12, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
