Quote

Regarding the quote "I do not want to be the second Eddy Merckx. I want to be the first Peter Sagan." - I can't seem to find any source from 2010 about it, neither in Slovak, nor in English. I found one source, from 2013, and added it. Can anyone find some other source to this quote? stclaus (talk) 11:12, 4 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

I'll take a look at this. Harrias talk 14:45, 11 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Lead
  • I would possibly consider a second reference to support "one of cycling's greatest talents", just because of how strong a statement it is.
  • "..for a record third consecutive season, which is a world record." Don't repeat "record" so close together. The first of the two probably isn't needed.
Early life and amateur career
  • I can't see anything in the sources to support the first two sentences of the second paragraph?
Professional career
  • Similarly, I can't find anything supporting the first two sentences of 2009.

After a couple of instances of unreferenced content, I've scanned through the rest of the article, and sadly this occurs over and over again. The article is really well written, but at the moment it is extremely under-referenced. I'm not going to continue the review at this stage, but ask that the referencing be greatly improved. I'll place it on hold for a week to give you time to work on this. Harrias talk 21:26, 11 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

This has been on hold for almost a week, during which time the nominator has not been active at all. It apparently has some significant sourcing issues, and so I have little choice but to fail it at this stage. If anyone wants to take this one and add the relevant references, feel free to ping me if you renominate it, and I will attempt to provide an expedited review. 2018 Tour de France

edit

The current wording seems a bit clunky to me:

"In the Tour de France, Sagan finished 2nd Stage 1 behind Fernando Gaviria. In Stage 2, Sagan won the stage and earned the green jersey and wore it for the rest of the tour. Sagan won Stage 5 and Stage 13. He crashed on descent stage 17, but finished and won the points classification."

However, every time I try to reword it, it ends up being worse! Also, should the following be mentioned: 1. Sagan finished second on stage 1 and although entitled to wear the Green Jersey (as the leader of the Points Classification was in Yellow), decided to stay in the Rainbow Jersey; 2. Sagan took the Yellow Jersey on Stage 2 and wore it for Stage 3, losing it on that stage, from then on he wore the Green Jersey. White&BlueWasp (talk) 08:49, 3 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Isn't Sagan a Jewish name?

Why not mention his peoplehood? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2003:F5:CBD3:3A2E:9CB5:E0D8:4A69:B8CE (talk) 06:14, 15 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
