The article says Petra was "undoubtedly" the highest selling Christian rock band in the world. This simply isn't true. Stryper's sales during this period were higher. They have RIAA certifications on multiple albums. Petra has none. The article also references Petra selling out arenas. They never headlined arenas in the United States, never mind selling them out. This kind of info in a wikipedia article just makes the entire document look untrustworthy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.179.36.8 (talk) 03:27, 30 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

I remember going to a Petra concert in what I would describe as an arena - Hilton Coliseum at Iowa State University "a 14,384-seat multi-purpose arena located in Ames, Iowa." They were the headliner and were out in support of the "More Power to Ya" album. I would agree with your thought about selling out such venues as the Hilton concert was not sold out by any stretch. Petra just added my music video to their Facebook page with my info as the producer of the Blinded Eyes video and they verify it is their 1st music video ever. Link: https://www.facebook.com/Petraband/?fb_dtsg_ag=Adx2d-asRpes7H8iyR32xTxahYDhSzQt7XhpVErFDRxe5Q%3AAdzTxUGCGDdoxn7q4oAVQJytkzfm3XqEXtB7lGJCcC45qw

This is Petra's Facebook page. I have nothing to do with it.

Is that proof enough for you to put my factual statement back? Roccodb (talk) 12:22, 14 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

I didn't take it out, so I'm not willing to restore it. This is a better link to the post – https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100007778910447 – but it seems reasonable to support that the video was their first. The overlays and contents of the uploader are not reliable statements. Also, the content is copyrighted by Star Song Communications. Your claims that it was put on a Word Records reel is confusing as a result. Also, since you are not the copyright holder, we can't link to it to support the statement. Sorry. Walter Görlitz (talk) 14:46, 14 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
I just saw this page. You say it's confusing to you that my claim it was on a Word Records reel when it's copyrighted by Star Song, but your own Wikipedia page on Star Song says in the 1st paragraph that Star Song was distributed by Word Records from 1983 to 1986 verifying once again I was factually correct. Here is the link to it. And yes, I'm not the owner of the copyright to the song itself, but I am the owner of the music video which I provided you the letter from Petra's manager at the time Mark Hollingsworth asking me for permission to use the video. Also I won a Telly Award for producing, directing, and editing it which Petra put on their Facebook page as well as Greg X.Volz put on his giving me the credit for it. It would be nice to just see it documented here that it was Petra's very 1st music video!

Misquote of sorts edit?

edit

In the section on More Power to Ya is a quote of the backwards masked audio as follows: "What are you looking for the devil for when you oughta be looking for the Lord?". The word "what" just does not seem right - "why" makes more sense. I used to own this album, but it was used as a giveaway during a concert that Petra did circa 2011/12 in Central Iowa so I have no way to double check this at this time. I did the edit to "correct" the quote so it makes logical sense. Not trying to start a controversy so if another editor has better info that points to my edit as being in error, by all means revert it. If I get a chance to verify the reverse audio I will update this if needed. Thanks. THX1136 (talk) 23:33, 24 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Reverted edit. I was in error. No more needs to be said. THX1136 (talk) 12:43, 7 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
