Questionable Objectivity
editShould this page not be tagged for its questionable objectivity, as essentially the entire text has been lifted straight from an EU publicity website?
Czech
editWell, as citisen of Czech Republic I've heard about PHARE really in manny occasions, but now that is the first time, I can see, for what the abbreviation stands. I suppose that the abbrev is much more widely known than the full name and should be not only highlighted in the text but also possibly the article should be moved back to the name PHARE. In Czech republic it is widely recognized as the program PHARE. Reo On | +++ 03:15, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
The article should be moved because the original full name (correct: Poland and Hungary: Assistance for Restructuring their Economies) is obsoleted now. Current official name is Phare, not PHARE. Filemon 17:45, 22 January 2006 (UTC)
Phare and Tacis
editWhy does TACIS redirect to Technical Aid to the Commonwealth of Independent States and Phare not redirect to Poland and Hungary: Assitance for Restructuring their Economies? Also, there would appear to be a lack of correlation in the Uppercase/Lowercase use; either Tacis and Phare are both lower case, or both uppercase. 62.72.110.11 12:16, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
Oh yeah, and Phare is over. 62.72.110.11 12:16, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
past
editThe grammar in the objectives section suggests that the article was written in 2003 or 2004. This should be rewritten all in the past tense now in 2014. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.20.2.80 (talk) 14:47, 28 May 2014 (UTC)
- @past
- When/iIf I find time (I might die before), I'll go through history of this article, and rewrite to past tense, adding apropriate dates (according to dates of original contribution. Without such dating, someone shall add {{when}} template to relevant places, or remove contents.
- @Questionable Objectivity
- I don't have sources, but was processing information about such cooperation at the time (in Phare expanded to 10 countries, if I recall correctly, several tens of thousands MS Word docs initially, and two meters high stack of printed paper, required to be sent to Eurostat, for one county, rendered obsolete by me consolidating contents into an MS Access protorype data base). I find info 9in the article incomplete, but accurate as far as I remember. If I find additional source(s), I'll add.
- @capitalization of Phare and Tacis
- For Phare I have checked in a Slovenian (official) source and was capitalized with first capital only (I would expect all caps for acronyim, as Reo_on remembers, but was wrong about that). I have no knowledge, or source, about TACIS capitalization at the moment.
- @Redirection
- Filemon already answered, and it seems also acted; possibly only Done is missing.
- @Missing information on money {{missing}}
- As I recall, the documents I mentioned above, included info about money used for each phase, but Eurostat had at the time problem with amount and form (probably hundreds of thousands word document reports printed on paper, before afordable scanners) of this info, and it is possible that info was not summarized and published in a way usable for the source for citation on that. Person who added that template is more then welcome to point to any source good for that.
