Is this the same Phelps that produced the steam "tractor" that acted like a semi-tractor rig for buggies & wagons? It's described & illo'd in Floyd Clymer, Treasury of Early American Automobiles, 1877-1925 (New York: Bonanza Books, 1950), p.15. Trekphiler (talk) 10:24, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

The Phelps apparently had bevel gear differential instead of chain drive and the body was hinged at the rear for easier access to the chassis.
