Cleanup

"In 1971, Nike, Inc. was born and Knight began his journey as one of the greatest entrepreneurial stories of the 20th century" This has a hagiographical tone. It needs to be changed to comply with NPOV. 84.64.138.40 13:58, 5 September 2007 (UTC)tarma_2002

I ran "Knight was an Eastmoreland kid who loved to run" through Google and got this article: http://www.kennymoore.us/bbbook/media/jeff_baker_oregonian.htm I believe much of the article is a copy and paste, judging by its journalistic tone. Definitely needs cleanup. Thanks for pointing it out. Katr67 14:37, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

Does he really have 28 kids? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jpm52588 (talkcontribs) 01:32, 4 November 2010 (UTC)

No, thank you for pointing that out, the vandalism has been reverted. Aboutmovies (talk) 02:16, 4 November 2010 (UTC)

Flow

There is some content that refers to the beginnings of Nike, then it goes on to the controversy that began around 2000. It seems like more needs to be said about his accomplishments at Nike and the bit about him resigning needs to be moved out of the intro and put into chronological order somehow. I think the Michael Moore bit can stay roughly where it is, and the philanthropy section belongs at the end. Somewhere we need to add more about the middle and end of his tenure at Nike. Phil Knight (musician)

"This article is about the co-founder of Nike. For the guitarist of Shihad, see Phil Knight (musician)."

Phil Knight (musician) now points to the keyboard player of The Legendary Pink Dots. I can't amend the above statement as I can't find an "edit" option on the page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.29.69.205 (talk) 17:48, 12 September 2011 (UTC)

Fixed by removing it, thanks. Rostz (talk) 18:32, 12 September 2011 (UTC)

Undergraduate degree?

Another source cites Knight's undergraduate degree at the University of Oregon as being a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.), not a journalism degree. See: Anne M. Petersen, "Nike's Phil Knight resigns as CEO," Seattle Times, November 19, 2004. Which is correct? Thanks, DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 06:51, 13 May 2012 (UTC)

I've found a second source, the Oregon Blue Book, included in the references which states that his degree was in Bus Admin. So I would go with that... DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 07:08, 13 May 2012 (UTC)

Assessment

I'm putting this at C class, but it's not far from B. It has a good amount of information from various stages and aspects of Knight's life, and is well referenced. Cacophony's comments above are worth pursuing, and some work could be done to help the text flow a little more smoothly. Also, there are a number of facts that aren't cited. They don't strike me as particularly controversial ones, but because this is a bio of a living person, it should probably be addressed. Plus, we could really use a photo of this chap. -Pete (talk) 08:24, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

I think you could do better than a photo of the back of his head. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.102.61.82 (talk) 15:26, 20 November 2012 (UTC)
