- Comment: This is my second DYK nomination. I chose Phil Williams the state senator (not Phil Williams the state representative) to be bolded because he has had a more public profile and more expansive coverage. Thank you!
5x expanded by Kafoxe (talk). Self-nominated at 01:35, 20 January 2022 (UTC).
- General eligibility:
- New enough:
- Long enough:
- Other problems: - Still marked as a stub.
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems |

Hook eligibility:
- Cited: - The hook is not found in the article at all, and neither is the source used.
- Interesting:
- Other problems: - The hook needs to differentiate between the two Williams a bit better.
QPQ: None required. |
Overall: The hook issues are going to hold this one up. SounderBruce 03:42, 21 January 2022 (UTC)
- I have added the hook and its source to both articles, and provided an alternative hook that includes the Williams' titles. Both articles were stubs prior to expansion, but I removed the tags from the pages in expanding them. Kafoxe (talk) 01:33, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Kafoxe: The source is an opinion piece, so if an alternative is available, that would be better. SounderBruce 01:52, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- @SounderBruce: I've replaced the source in the nomination with a new one and added it to both articles. Kafoxe (talk) 02:00, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- ALT1 is good to go. SounderBruce 08:35, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- @SounderBruce: actually, ALT0 is fine in my opinion—the ambiguity is its strength. It's a quirky hook; it omits a little bit of the story to make readers want to click more, without giving false information. If you'd approve it, I'd be much happier to promote that one. theleekycauldron (talk • contribs) (she/they) 09:27, 2 February 2022 (UTC)
- (for ALT0) It would be hookier. SounderBruce 11:21, 2 February 2022 (UTC)
