Huge chunks of text in the previous version of the article were clunky and dated, I attempted to cut down on the wordiness of the article and the clunkiness of the sentence structure. It seems to have been copied wholesale from an old encyclopaedia article. Content checking on this article would be greatly appreciated. Yes, is has been copied wholesale, since the material was fully referenced (follow the notes' links) and Smith's DGRBM is still famous for its solidity. And yes, i have verified it.
