editThe article keeps refering to the Church. Is this the Catholic Church? Midnightcomm 03:46, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
It refers to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. GreatScot
I don't know if the previous submitter will see the copyright notice, so in the meantime I created a simple Temp page that could be used, and has a link that provides broad information including the LDS Philanthropies website. reiddp

editThe whole article reads like an advertisement, needs a major re-write. Ledenierhomme 23:32, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
I have begun the rewrite to address neutrality but expierienced technical difficulties in Beta trying to add references. Will revisit this. GreatScot (talk) 19:47, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
Are there particular statements that you feel fail NPOV?
It is a tough sell to simply say that a positive article about a as-far-as-we-know-blameless charity effort is "too positive".
Is there factual sourced information that you feel should be included to offset what you feel, if I understand you correctly, is a promotional POV?
KipHansen 16:07, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
- I've deleted the POV and Merge templates, while the article could be improved with any shortfalls / issues with the organization, that merely makes it incomplete rather than POV. Keeping the self ref template will maintain this concern. - RoyBoy 02:58, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
LDS Foundation and LDS Philanthropies are Different Organizations?
editI tried to call the LDS Foundation and I got LDS Philanthropies and discovered that they are now two different organizations which involved a name change which is contributing to the confusion.
Kaydell2 (talk) 03:48, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
To clarify, there were two organizations with similar names:
1. LDS Foundation - a department of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, primarily responsible for handling charitable donations to 501c3 organizations related to the church.
2. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Foundation - a grant-making organization that provides financial assistance to various community projects.
At least partly due to the confusion between the roles of the two organizations (one recieving donations, the other making grants) a name change was suggested. LDS Foundation became LDS Philanthropies. GreatScot (talk) 19:48, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
