Generating phonewords

Why listing special software? Couldn't you use any T9-enabled phone and type the "number" to get matching words? Or does this software do something "more" than that? Prauch (talk) 10:38, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

You're right, but use special software is easier. Special software can automatically split number to several words and offer many words combinations at same time (see at numbe 568-3569 in Phonespell or Nomerslovami). (Bimbodaca (talk) 11:07, 11 January 2016 (UTC))

Per WP:EL, removed links to websites that promote commercial products and services. Calltech 13:03, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

Calltech

Good move. I was not aware about the policy of not linking to commercial sites.

I will keep a close eye on this site.

Kind regards

Thanks Jack. Commercial references were also removed because it detracts from encyclopedic aspect of WP article. This certainly is open for discussion, but any references to commercialism is highly discouraged at WP. Calltech 13:51, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

I understand.

Being an ex-ad agency copywriter, I do tend to get a bit commercial in my writing.

I will improve.

Regards

I have removed the commercial links again - they were either blatant spam or localised Australian info. Kevin 06:37, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

I heard that a certain manufacturer of alcoholic beverages once had the London number WHISKEY. Anybody know if this is true? Did they deliberately locate their office within the service area of the Whitehall exchange so they could do this?Shrdlu junction 03:53, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

I corrected some grammar in the section on Russian telecoms, then looked on the talk page and realized that the external links are not ok. I'll edit again and remove them. Sopwerdna (talk) 23:27, 4 April 2016 (UTC)
